Memories on a Seoul street - things that have vanished in South Korea

What can you spot first in this photo?

Seoul street (17 Oct 2020)

I actually took a photo of that red box, the postbox!

Korean postbox

One of the things that have been vanishing rapidly in Korea is the red postbox.(우체통) Like other vanishing ones, letters have also been replaced by something more advanced.

But does advancement always mean positive?

Sometimes slowness helps us better to recall memories.

When I was in primary school, as holiday homework, I used to write a letter to teachers every year.
When my friend moved to another city, and my aunt moved abroad, we sent letters back and forth.

The postbox must have meant a lot to someone back then.

It takes time, but it's worth waiting.

Now that we are getting used to living in a speedy world, old things could become obsolete and completely disappear one day.

Hopefully, there will still be a place for them.

What are things you miss the most that have vanished in your city/hometown?
